Some really cool games to play with a dog?

When I get my puppy probably a Golden Retriever I want to play some really cool imaginative games with it. Have you any ideas? Please be unique and tell me how to play them.

Also any ideas for mental stimulation when my dogs playing on her own?|||Dogs love to go for walks and sniff all over the neighbourhood. This is the best game you can play with him.|||On her own: Besides the usual stimulating toys like Kongs, chew toys etc and, of course, the essential walks every day, there are lots of fun games you and your dog can play together than will also be very helpful for the bond you have with your dog, and with your training. You'll find though, that if you keep your dog well exercised, she's snooze most of the day anyway.

I love to play hide and seek with my dog. Get a toy. If you like, scent it (e.g. rub a little bit of something distinctive, but not too strong like some lavender or garlic on a rope toy), then show it to your dog. Ask your dog to stay (or if it is not well trained in stay yet, get someone to hold the dog) while you go and hide it. Pretend to hide it in a few places as well as actually putting the toy in one of them. Then tell your dog to "find it". They absolutely love rushing around looking for it. It'll encourage your dog to scent out toys too. Keep it close to begin with, so your dog understands and learns the game. After a while, you can put the toy in more difficult to find places, or up higher, to make it more of a challenge. You can also hide people too.

You can hide a few treats around for an "easter egg hunt" when she is left on her own, As you leave, tell her to "find it" and she will spend the next couple of hours making absolutely sure she hasn't missed the tiniest morsel. Of course, you will have to teach her this game too as it is a little different to hiding a toy since there are multiple things to find.

Make trick training part of your routine too - and make it fun so that your dog enjoys it. Good luck!|||-Taking it for walks.

Not really a game/toy, but it's what they love most, the best essential.

-Chews,Bones,Rawhides,Pigs Ears e.t.c.

Dogs LOVE chewing on these. They last for about a hour, cost about 65p in most shops but it's worth it!!

-Squeaky Toys,Socks,Ropes.

Dogs like to play with things like this everyday. They are very cheap and they last long.

Games you could play with your dog include:

-Tricks

-Catch

-Tug Of war

Good luck!|||chess is good. but seriously dogs like puzzles. Go to your local pets at home store or whatever you have in your area, they sell a variety of mind boggling toys that will keep a dog busy for hours as well as you entertained watching him!
