I am hosting a birthday/dinner party (adults). What are some cool games to play (besides cranium, mystery)?

I have searched online and have only found things like spy, mystery games...or what celebrity are you type games. Besides those and cranium and standard board games are there other options?I am hosting a birthday/dinner party (adults). What are some cool games to play (besides cranium, mystery)?
Apples to Apples and Blurt! are the two best games ever.

You can buy them pretty much anywhere, they're very popular.

Blurt! is more like a board game where someone reads a definitions and everyone has to yell out the first word that comes to mind until someone names the word on the card.

In Apples to Apples everyone gets a few cards that have people, places, events, objects, movies etc on them. Each person takes turns reading a card with a simple word like 'depressing' or a pharse 'what's in my room' and the others put down a card that they think best fits the word or phrase. Then you judge to see who choose the best. It sounds very tame, but it definately is not!
HAHAH Cranium, I bought that for my youngest son and we played it at my house during Christmas and died laughing. Have you seen the game called Scene It? I don't know if you have a DVD Player or not but Scene It is a game where you play these clips from movies that are included with the game and then your guests have to guess what movie it is from. Also, I recently went to this adult pajama party and we played CLR, which is a dice game, with three dice marked C L R. Each person gets three quarters to start with. You put a cup in the middle. So the first person rolls three dice marked C L R and then if you get a C you put a quarter in the center, if you get a L you give a quarter to the person to the left of you and if you get a R you give a quarter to the person to the right of you. If you have no quarters you can not roll the dice. The person with one quarter left at the end wins and gets the money in the cup in the middle. It gets pretty funny.



Also, let's not forget Chirades but make sure you are prepared in advance if you are going to play this. You could make out little slips of paper of what the Chirade is supposed to be and have people draw from a bowl in the center of the table to see what they will be acting out.I am hosting a birthday/dinner party (adults). What about pcitures of all sorts of celebrities (at their worst) printed from online or cut from magazine? Make a poster board....

And people have to guess how many they recognize?

Or if it is a birthday match 2 celebrity pics and have people guess which is older....

My friends love playing PIT. It's an old game from the 20's based on the stock market so it's super fun now with the economy tanking like it is. It's a card game and you gather everyone around the table. You ring the bell to signal that trading is open and suddenly it's a mad dash for commodities. People want all 8 of the wheat cards or the rye cards or the barley cards and they're shouting at each other to get them. Trading doesn't stop until somebody gets all 8 of their "stock" and rings the closing bell. Of course there is a bull card and a bear card as well to mess with the situation further. It's mass chaos and soooo much fun. I highly recommend it. I think Target has a new version in a classic looking tin. Just watch your wine glasses. They don't belong on the table during this game :-)
I Love to play Charades! I thought it sounded childish, but at a friends party one night we played it and it was hilarious and super fun!



Family Feud is cool too! They have it at Best Buy
apples to apples is a hilarious party game - i don't play games much, but it really is fun! word games like scattergories %26amp; taboo are good too.
A race night can be fun and you can buy that in a box. Give us a clue is always a favourite with us.
Mad Gab is fun
beer pong, drunken darts, ghost riding (not a game but still fun)
