What are some cool PS3 games I should buy?

I just bought a new PS3, but I don't know what games to get first. I need some recommendations. (I'm not that into sports games, but if they're that awesome tell me about 'em anyway!)



Oh, and is Guitar Hero really worth buying? I know there's a lot of hype around it, but I've heard the argument that you should just learn to play a real guitar...any opinions?What are some cool PS3 games I should buy?
Ninja Gaiden Sigma (must have for any action hardcores)

Dynasty Warriors 6 (Great Chinese History Game for non Chinese)

Folklore (I guess girls would love this one)

Call of Duty 4 (THE BEST SHOOTER GAME)

Heavenly Sword (Another action game by Sony itself)

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the patriot (must have for any gamers) 10/10 (HELL YEA KONAMI WILL NEVER FAIL YOU ALL ITS GAMES WILL NEVER DISAPPOINT YOU)



Metal Gear Solid series are the best games i have played in my life and i have played 350+ games since ps comes out in japan.



Grand Theft Auto (I dont really like it. Another gangster theme)



Well the sport games have nothing really to brag about if you are not familiar with the particular sport or if you dont know any athletes in that sport.
Guitar Hero IV is expensive but definitely worth getting. Little Big Planet looks to be one of the greatest games ever so that is needed too.



PS3 does shooters well and Call of Duty 4, Battlefield: Bad Company and Resistance 2 are definite buys.



Mirror's Edge is an awesome Free running FPS so looks like an awesome Pre-Order. Other than that I suggest GTA IV and Metal Gear Solid 4.



It may also be worth while buying the Official Playstation Magazine that comes out in October as it will have the latest news on all the must have gamesWhat are some cool PS3 games I should buy?
To be honest, yes Guitar Hero is a great game, I'm not knocking it, but the only thing is, to me it feels like once you've played one guitar hero you've played them all and after beating it, you rarely pick it up again or at least I don't, a good 1st person shooter is Resistance, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Call of Duty 4, a good RPG game is Oblivion, other games such as Assassin's Creed I thought was amazing, Grand Theft Auto 4 is awsome too if your a fan of any of the Grand Theft Autos and even if your not and just want to free roam while shooting and driving anywhere in a city with great graphics, and if you have ever played any of the Metal Gear solid games and liked them, Metal Gear Solid 4 is definately a buy! It all depends on the person though, you can always go to Gamespot.com and search through their ratings of games and read up on the reviews to see if you would like a game and the pros and cons of the game. I have to agree with that first dude who said it on the spot...u CANNOT have a ps3 without guitar hero, if i were u i would get the third one. I also would say that gta4 is an aaaawsome game, i really think it has the best story line of all the gta's and the third of my top 6 would be Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
